We would love to present at your foreign language in-service meeting or institute day!
We offer three different presentations.
Avril à Paris
Our presentation shows teachers how to develop a simulated trip to Paris, either using our book Avril à Paris or by creating their own materials. The program takes students through a
realistic trip to France--everything from passports to the farewell dinner--all within the classroom. Multiple activities are included to provide students the opportunity to use their French in realistic situations. This unit is appropriate for both high school and middle school
classes as well as adult education classes. The presentation would also benefit teachers of other foreign languages and student teachers.
French Enrollment Up!
Our presentation shows teachers how to increase their student enrollment from nine different angles. Teachers will be encouraged to think in new and creative ways and to apply these new approaches to their own French programs. The presenters, who have successfully implemented this plan in their own school, will offer a multitude of practical suggestions, ideas, and activities that can take place during the school day without burdening the teacher with lengthy preparations. This presentation is appropriate for any French teacher who would like to increase student enrollment. It would also benefit entire foreign language departments that wish to increase their enrollment as well as university education departments preparing future teachers.
A Québec, au Québec
Our presentation shows teachers how to develop a simulated trip to Québec, either using our book A Québec, au Québec or by creating their own materials. The program highlights the country of Canada, the province of Québec, and the city of Québec. Preparation for the trip, what to do before leaving on the trip, activities while in Québec, and creative assessments after returning from the imaginary trip are some of the topics covered. Multiple activities are included to provide students the opportunity to use their French in realistic situations. This unit is appropriate for high schools, middle schools, adult education, and foreign language education students at the university.
Each presentation lasts approximately 50 minutes. Longer presentations are also available. There is no charge for schools in the Chicago area. We ask only that we may make our books available for any teacher who would be interested in purchasing a copy. For schools outside the Chicago
area, we would expect expenses only. Please contact us at ShopBeret@beretinc.com for references and fees.
